Jason & SookWei's Big Day

22-Nov-2008

The day that have been long awaited .. long anticipated .. has finally arrived.

A dream come true when she finally tied the knot to the love of her life.

It was a truly beautiful wedding. And God made the weather great despite the depressing monsoon season that I have been complaining about on a daily basis.

SookWei looked amazingly beautiful .. she glowed radiantly.
It's the L.O.V.E.
Her bridal gown was simple .. but gorgeous and elegant.
White lace over light champagne satin lining.

The solomization took place at Braise at Sentosa. Overlooking Pahlawan beach, this was the perfect spot for the event.

Oh, and did I mention the food was fantastic ?!
Crab cakes rockxxx ~

Lovin' the dress I bought. Silk fuschia with batik-like prints with embroidered neckline.

Dinner at Amara Sanctuary Sentosa.

I would call it fine dining coz I can't remember the exactly how the food was made.

But every single one left a lasting memory to my taste buds.

Wasabi prawns (one of the 3 dishes for starters). Sharks fin served in a mini pumpkin. Wagyu-beef for main. Baked king prawns. Japanese noodle with tempura fish (i think it was pregnant fish .. coz I don't really know how to appreciate this delicacy). And cempedak creme brulee with berries.

SookWei's an amazing wedding planner. I think her sis and JamieT had contributed alot as well. From the hen's night that they planned out, I won't be surprised they did alot for this night as well.

The ballroom was subtly litted with random shades of pink, blue, orange and green lights .. and with lots and lots of roses and candles. The jazz band was amazing. And the emcee .. not your average random person going on stage and reading off the pre-written script. This guy is a professional man ... like one of those that does commercial/big gala/events. He creates impact.

A lot of great speeches that touches the soul and melts the heart.

Being an amazing singer, SookWei surprised Jason by singing Olivia Newton John's Hopelessly Devoted To You .. followed by her performance with the Sugarettes.
FYI, she's part of the band that made it to Top5 of the Live The Dream.

She's so gonna help me draw out my wedding plans next time.

The venue, the photographer, the performers, the programs.

One thing I love about weddings in Singapore is that the guests dresses properly.
Finely if it may be.
I feel it's a certain level of respect that we have to give to the couple that it's an important event and not just some dinner party that they're throwing.

I really don't get it how can one go to someone's wedding in tees, jeans and sneakers. People are so scared to be overdressed that they go soooo under-dressed.

A week ago Dan consulted me on what should he wear to his friend's wedding in KL. I suggested at least a nice smart shirt and slacks .. coat and tie is optional. He was shocked coz he planned to throw in his tux. But that's way too much ritee......

Congrats to the both and wishing them neverending bliss.

Btw, the stunning pics are taken by Gabriel Mendes.
I so wanna book him ... but he doesn't come cheap.

Should I start saving then ;)

Gymnastics

I have always been so amazed with the sport and it's gracefulness. I wished that my parents had sent me to gymnast school when I was a little girl .. so I could train hard and make my country and parents proud. Since I don't have that chance or able to turn back time, I would like my daughter to relive my dreams.

No one really knows what goes behind the scenes.

We've heard how torturous the rigorous the training is .. but for this case, this is the extreme.

Looks like my doubts in the sport shot up 300% and second thoughts don't even come close to sending my daughter to gymnast training. We'll just stick to ballet. =)

Busy busy busy Weekend

Saturday outing over at Lion City with the Sis and SisBro .. SistaEsh and SisBroSoon.

Sorry FruitZong .. you're not a SisBro. -__-

After "working out" in the streets of Orchard, walking aimlessly for 2 hours or so, without having to sit over coffee coz Singapore has a shitty rule of non-smoking in public with ridiculous quota of smoking areas for cafes, we headed for some stomach pampering over at Dempsey.

Shopping can be so demotivating when there's not a single Sale sign in sight.

The Zara cocktail dress was so pretty .. with a S$229 price tag. -__-

K laa .. I'm a miser laa .. happy?!

Anyways ... back to a much "motivating" note ..

Italian over at La Forketta @ Dempsey.

My Seafood Linguine. I ordered "Seafood Linguine" but the waitress had to correct me .. "Linguine WITH Seafood?" What the hell ....

Anyways .. Hearty serving which is bad for the heart.
Slipper lobsters, clams, prawns, mussels, squid, and scallops.

SisBroSoon's Slipper Lobster Spaggethi.

SisEsh's Carbonara. It was the only cream sauce pasta on the menu.
Not recommended as it tasted really ..... well .. unappetizing.
We had to each give her our scampis to make up for the blandness.

FruitZong's Lasagna.
Seriously .. this is the worst lasagna I've ever seen. We'll just leave the description to your imaginative minds.
The worst looking, but amazingly it was the best tasting one. Seriously. Not funny.
This lasagna tasted real good.

But still ....................

where's the QC in presentation?!

Some fun with the Glasses.

Zong's glasses became an instant IT accessory for the night.

Caucasians can never understand why Asians are able to humour themselves with the camera.
We're so sorry that flashes were zapping non-stop at our table like some private disco ball.

E-Vogue Hair & Make-up Competition / Graduation Show

Congrats to my make-up artist Enya for winning the Bridal Make-up Category and Overall Winner for Make-up.

Ever since she posted pics up on FB and tagged me in it .. my guy friends have been buzzing me about her. She's such a sweetie-pixie-like doll with a outburst of bubbly personality that you just can't resist. I jez wanna chew her !

Her signature statement ... "没有什么的啦。。。!!!"

* * *

Am loving the new color of my hair.

Shades ligter than my previous one .. Ash Brown from the Majirel collection.

Done by James from Andy Chan Salon @ DNP Plaza, JB.

James was the winner for this year's Loreal Color Trophy .. so you can trust his expertise as a professional colorist.

The newly renovated Andy Chan Salon is opened everyday except for Tuesdays. The black and white modern victorian theme exudes elegance with sleek sophistication.

James and Bon reckoned I get my hair a couple of shades lighter so that I'll look more pan-Asian.
I don't have courage to go near blonde.
Not when I'm in JB .. I'll get crucified Ah-Lian for life !

Video Sampling

Finally got my hands on the videography sampling from i-Studio for the bridal shoot for Elegance Bridal / Amore Bridal in Singapore.

Am impressed with the simple snapshots of the whole process.

And loving the simple yet elegant styling.

Can't help being amused that Hero looked so much like my cousin Andy.

Yea .. another cradle-snatcher bridal shoot.

Do I really look too young for my age that they have to pair me up with younger men .. or that they look matured for their age?

la nuit où les filles déchaînées

As what SookWei calls it in French ...

The Nite when GIRLS GONE WILD!

So that explains the French Maid outfit =D

The stunning bride-to-be. We go a long way back since we were 8 or something ..
just a day apart when we both came into this world ..
our friendship is destined instead of just mere coincidence.
First stop : Dinner and meet ups at Cafe Iguana.

From this point onwards, we were are fearing for Sook. Friends of hers who couldn't make it to her Hen's Night could only told her to brace herself after going through the circulated emails all week long for the planning of this ...... mayhem.

The brains behind all these ...
JamieT (left) her future SisterInLaw .. and Sim (middle) her blood sis.
It almost seems like Pinky and the Brain planning to rule the world. =D

That's Noelle at the right .. another bubbly wacky woman.

First up, oh course dinner .. Chimichangas were fab at Cafe Iguana.
My knowledge on South American food is very shallow .. so I have no idea what are those.

It feels Mexican .. hence the mentioning of South American.
I have no idea.

What was in store for Sook?

(1) She had to change into a French Maid outfit. It's not that kinky .. coz it was a Halloween costume not some kinky bedroom lingerie. Mind you .. flown all the way from New York ok!

(2) A whole list full of dares she has to do ... there's too many to list down .. plus we were all too drunk to even know where the list went. These are real dares .. not your average forgettable ones, but those that you will reside in your memory for at least a decade, unless severe dementia kicks in at an early age.

Example: Shouting out "I'm Horny" in public.

(3) She has to do some hard-selling to raise money to our kitty so we could buy more drinks.

These are only a handfull of our stock. I always thought condoms came in one-size-fits-all ..
But Trojan had Magnum size ... oh my~

Someone got her a penis cake as well ...

Sorry for the vulgarity .. it's a lil too obscene with the pubes and the cum and all ....

But penis cake was surprisingly delicious.

I couldn't resist .... I had 2 servings *blush*

Made some new gorgeous friends ...
People who are stunningly beautiful and so much to admire.
There's so much to blog about. But it shall end abruptly here coz most of it are censored and only made available to our private selves ;)

On the other had, if our girls night was already that wild, I dare not think what the men will be up to next.

Oh dear ~

Till then ... traffic lights complimentary from Attica!

And for a sec we all thought we had 18 shots free.
Turned out to be juice instead. -_- ""

Boof !

When we go Boo~ during Halloween ..

Schnappi-Doo goes Boof~ (Boo+Woof) =D

He's much luckier with costumes.

Thanks to Joey+Alvin that Schnappi-Doo finally got his first outfit.

A pink bunny suit =D

I know ............... he's a boy ...
Pink is the new black .. no?

Such coincidence that I have been calling my boy "Bunny-Boy" coz he always hops around in excitement like a bunny.

Enjoy Schnappi's Halloween dress-up ..

All costumes are courtesy of Tucker (Joey's boy) and Rascal (Joanne's boy) wardrobe.

Halloween Boo~

I meant to get a really nice costume off ebay. But I doubt it'll arrive in time given the quality of our national courier service.

The dress I bought yesterday hasn't arrived today via national courier, so I didn't want to risk it. Oh well ... too bad darling, next Halloween then ;)

Pre-Halloween dress-up at PhotoFunia instead.

It isn't really my style of costume, but Jack Sparrow really looked good on me !

Marshmallow astronaut looked cute too ..

.. and so was I a sweet-cutie pie-mona lisa.

I could have had more options .. but the pics didn't really fit well with the others. Made Marilyn Monroe looked like a freakazoid with overgrown face features.

I preped up BigOne as well .. I meant to make him my superhero SuperMan .. but they made him a pink bunny hero holding a lolly with 2 pups by his feet. Oh man~ disgrace to his manhood and he will be so pissed if I posted them up. Not like he reads anyways .. bahhh~

But my fav of all ...................
May the forces be with you.

Happy Halloween !

May you have a creepy night~

Boo !~

Popo'ed

I've just been Popo'ed !

Behold .. Baby-Popo-Jamie

No one knows exactly what Popo means. Definitely not meaning "Grandma" in the Chinese context. Hell, I don't even know what does that mean myself.

Just that I have a Malaysian friend who speaks fluent French .. who is F.O.S. (full of sh!t) .. and never fails to perk me up with all his "S"s. He calls himself Popo-Panda now .. and is spreading his influence quickly. Last I checked over FB, there's someone else besides me who got baby-popo'ed.

Freaky .. but undeniably hillarious.

Kinda like a serial killer in a panda costume on the loose!

Hail Dan .. opps, I mean Popo-Panda!

Fatefully Departed

Tuesday was the gloomiest day ever.

What are the odds that 2 of your friends left on the same day and you can never see them ever again?

Shocking but true. I was still in a daze when I received the news. It felt that it was a dream .. but I had to wake up to the brutal fact of reality.

Though we have grew apart throughout the years, your departure still saddens me .. and everyone around you, close and far. We may all regret that we could have taken back the things that we have said, times that we could have made up for .. we are glad we have a part of your amazing pressence in our lives, residing in our memories.

Rest in peace my dear friend. Am sure your presence up above will be so much interesting with you around.

Ryan Lauw.
Someone actually uploaded this photo up on facebook to my astonishment.
This was how attractively-dorky I was back then. =.=!

* * *

On another note ..

We all strongly disagree with the decision that you have made.

But there's no point in brooding over.

I guess you have considered your decision thoroughly and made up your mind that life will be much more happier after.

I'll miss your wackiness and those memories we have had back then. And I greatly regret that I have ignored you for those times you buzzed me on MSN.

Rest in peace too my dear Man Kok.

A wacky pic to conclude our friendship.

* * *

Life is too fragile.

We will never know what God has planned for us.

With all that is happening around us, we should realize that we should live life to the fullest. Am sure there will be some of you that will disagree that sometimes things just aren't working out the way we want them to, or the way that we can live it to the fullest. But for everything that has happened, it happens for a reason. And we should learn from it. We should be strong and pick ourselves up for the falls we make, no matter how many times we fall or how frequent we fall. Never give up .. for God is fair, and we will only realize that there's always a rainbow after the storm.

Life goes on. Make the best of it.

Time for an upgrade

I need help to decide.

Let's just ignore the last 2 options coz it's way out of my budget.

Bear in mind that this new gadget is gonna last me for another gazillion years before I change for another. Yea, am still using that ridiculous 5mp camera which SisEsh just can't stop criticizing how bad it is. It still works .. serves BASIC needs, with a spoiled dial which is just too costly to change.

Most of my friends recommend the Canon for better pics .. but am lovin' the slimness of the Skinny-T .. plus it comes in PINK !

Start polling !

Which digital camera should I get ?
Canon Ixus 870 IS
Sony Cybershot Skinny T-77
Others (please recommend)

Unacceptable

What is the key competencies of a business in a service line?

Bloody SERVICE.

Super duper atrociously unacceptable experience.

It's not like OldTown is not known for bloody bad service .. I recall having visited a forum created just to slam OldTown outlets nationwide.

I've been neutral so far ... until .................
from Old Town Taman Molek, JB Outlet

This what you get for ordering a cold drink with less ice.

Like someone bloody took 2-3 sips off your drink.

And when we confronted the supervisor .. he said it is because we requested for less ice, without a slight feeling of remorse. Didn't even offer to change a new glass.

How can you bloody serve this cup to your customers?

We were so furious that we demanded to speak to the Manager but ended up with a reply of "Our manager's only on morning shift." =.=!

I wonder if our request / message is highlighted to the Manager the next morning. For all you know they would give a flying f**k about what you think.

Come on .. that extra ml of tea/milk/water wouldn't improve your margin by even 1%. And changing a new glass for your customer is the least you could do after ripping off customers for the price that they're charging.

And you thought Starbucks and CoffeeBean are expensive. At least you'll never complain and you'll be cared and heard there.

I just realized that I have been neglecting this blog for quite some time. There’s so much that I haven’t been updating that I don’t know where to start .. that always ends up in the archives. Enough of the procrastinations.

***

Anne has finally left for Melbourne. I didn’t expect that it would affect me that much. I was so sad. It sent me on a waterfall frenzy. It felt as though my “boyfriend” left to further his study overseas and I could only see him a couple of weeks each year. I missed the person that has showered me with support, guidance, a shoulder to cry on, ultimate patience and understanding, and keeping my hopes and faiths alive through the darkest and lowest that I have been through. And helped me through it all .. being there for me emotionally and physically. Now that she’s gone, I felt empty as I have been so dependent on her back then. But I’m glad to know that she’ll always be there for me even though she’s thousands of miles apart … just a text, a MSN message or a phone call away. I miss you Anne .. you have been a true friend and I really appreciate that. And may we be the best of friends for the longest time ever.

Ok Anne .. you can start your waterfall now ;)
Emo suit !!

Remember the “Lion-mane” shoot ? It’s finally out in this month’s Female magazine. Nüyoü mag but I’ve yet to see it on newsstands.

Both Loreal shoots are out.

The new Maji brown collection …

… and the lion-mane 60’s big curls look.
Somehow I preferred the pic Bon took for me.

Do not underestimate one's artistic cam whoring skills. =)

***

I’m just wondering …

How do we know if our intuitions are right or are the psyco thoughts on the loose again?

We women are well known to be natural born psycos. Please, am sure everyone has been there before. It’s just a matter of time before one snaps out of it otherwise they really go loco.

For those who have been “there” before, how do we know if it’s the ugly side is taking a peek to the outside world again after it has been banished to its deepest gallows? Sometimes we blame too much on the precedence. We end up blaming ourselves and bringing it upon us. It’s just like judging an ex-con by whatever cover it has. But in actual fact, for all you know, it’s our intuition that is giving us a big wake up slap and a “Helloooo !~”

Being in a relationship is like taking a big roller coaster ride … not the lousy ones in those cheapo funfairs in your neighbourhood, but those ones in Disneyland .. in the States mind you. You love it … you hate it.

I wonder how can people actually admit that they love the “thrills” of the ups and downs. Oh you bloody well know you god damn hate the downs. When it comes to the people you love so deeply, that “down” impact is like sending your heart way down to your intestines and stuck there. Yea, very tormenting!

But at the end of the day, one must have the courage to pick themselves up and move on. Time may heal most of the wounds. We’ll feel better, but somehow still bitter inside. I figured the challenge here isn’t just to move on. Remember the term “forgive and forget” ? Time allows us to forgive, but no matter what .. it’s just too hard to forget. And we women have such an imaginative and creative minds that we would ponder upon stuff that we are supposed to forget. Opening the files that have been closed long ago and to investigate deeper into those doubts we have at the back of the mind.

OM“Bloody”G .. psyco thoughts on the loose!

Byno will go .. “Jamieeeeee ….. stop it !”

It seems that recently I've been surrounded by emotional fluctuations around me. And I understand very well that these people need more support, understanding and guidance through this phase. More than anything else, they all want a "solution" .. and answer to all their doubts. Where does it all start in the first place. Just when I was about to let my mind settle on this neverending discussion with no definite solution, last night's Tyra Show episode was about this.

Insecurities often leads to Paranoia.

Be it physical wise, or expectations from your partner.

There is a sudden gush of verbal diarrhea in my mind after the last fullstop. I feel it is rather inappropriate to publish my "mind diarrhea" coz it will do injustice to the male species, disrespecting people's private issues, subconsciouly inflict more damage to the already damaged/insecure/paranoia minds of those who are reading this, or just creating more unnecessary pondering. Let's just leave it as it is. Am sure everyone has their own story to tell.

I just wish that more positive light comes to shine for those who have been suffering in the pouring rain.

Cabana Manhunt Competition Finals is tomorrow.

Am judging.

Isn’t it interesting being able to ogle and judge men shamelessly while they go all out to impress you?

Am so lucky.
I hope they live up to my expectations. Though I'm trying not to have one too high.

But already having a headache deciding what to wear.

If only Alysher didn’t pressure me with “Please dress to kill” and having to hold up to people’s expectations with the title that I will be carrying then.
Damn ~

If only I were Jem and my entire wardrobe would be right there beside me every second of the day. No worries if I dressed up for the wrong occasion.

See what TV does to your brain?

Rockin Good Times

I've been slacking on the entries real bad. Only can blame it on a whole sh!tload of reasons. =)

My darling Anne is heading back to Melb in exactly 11 days. For some reasons my heart sinks whenever I look at the calender, crossing out the days that passes by so quickly. She has been there physically and emotionally for me during the most depressing times (also you too BynoTan) and it will never be the same again. Though you'll still be there .. but not physically. Boohoo~ Where am I to find another psycopath that could understand me so well? Psycos only understand psycos. Psyco-Yaya-Sisterhood .. Hahahaha~ Well, we don't want that now don't we.

I guess for the next 11 days I'll (and you too Byno) be basically neglecting almost everything and make the best of the remaining days with Anne. You are so missed woman! And Rebellion Madnezz will never be the same again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SaCHA !!!

My dear huggabuns hugga bunny boo scha celebrates at Walkers over the weekend. It's been a while since I had so much fun ! And oh, BlackLable clears the flu bug. =)

This year Sean found 2 new brothers .. a younger brother (Anthony) and I guess BigOne is the new addition. For some reasons, I feel there's a strong bond from this picture. Sorry darling, I know you might hate it .. but am so lovin' it !!!

* * *

Am planning on getting a new camera coz the old one is seriously dying on me, if not, taking a toll on my anger management till i eventually kill it. I've my plans on the Canon 860 IS but the nice honest lady over at the store asked me to hold my purchase coz they'll be launching their new models really soon.

Any good recommendations?
Something like the 860 but much slimmer would be perfect.
Also not forgetting easy on the dollar would be extremely nice as well.

Mister & Miss Right

We have all had our fair share of relationship roller coaster rides ... whether or not that person is The One, no one knows. I always felt that it would be so much better if we all had a crystal ball that could tell what would happen next so that we won't even bother wasting our time making the first wrong move. But then again, there goes all the excitement and meaningful discovering period. It's always exciting ain't it .. like a rollercoaster ride .. exhillarating, but too much of it is bad for the heart.

Men always ask, what do we women want? Seems like we're some kind of complicated species, and the men overrate themselves as the SimpleOne. Duhh~ Yea, we women don't know what we want, not in the sense as we have completely no idea, but we want so many things that we don't know how to put them in order. It's just like walking into a shoe store .. we don't know which to get, coz we want em all. So we have a problem in setting priority with the wants. And we want the impossible. The ultimate impossible. Getting them to think like us. Good luck on that.

We're just different, accept it. And Men will never come from Venus. Vise-versa, men should also accept that Women will never come from Mars. We'll all just have to wait for some kind of hybrid to exist. Good hybrids. Not "confused" hybrids.

A mail came in and have been wanting to share this inspiring thought with you peeps for the longest time ever, but ever since the internet at home is so screwed, coupled with the work-dementia-syndrome I've been suffering lately, my inspiration to write has gone downhill. I can't exactly be "inspired" to blog during working hours rite. Too much in the head. See, even this is going off track now. This is bad.

Rewind. Back in line.

How Do I Know If I Married The Right Person?
or be with the right person for that matters.

This question has been weighing on everyone's mind even though all has been rosey posey. There's some kind of uncertainty which we call the Risk Factor.

EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse / partner . You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called 'falling' in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet". Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU .

Falling in love is easy . It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship . Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?" And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown . People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

The key to succeeding in marriage is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression "The Labor of Love". Because it takes time, effort, and energy . And most importantly, it takes WISDOM . You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage. Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can "make" love.

Love in marriage is indeed a 'decision'... Not just a feeling.

Remember this always:
God determines who walks into your life.
It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.

That's all for now from the Love Guru 101.
