Jason & SookWei's Big Day

22-Nov-2008

The day that have been long awaited .. long anticipated .. has finally arrived.

A dream come true when she finally tied the knot to the love of her life.

It was a truly beautiful wedding. And God made the weather great despite the depressing monsoon season that I have been complaining about on a daily basis.

SookWei looked amazingly beautiful .. she glowed radiantly.
It's the L.O.V.E.
Her bridal gown was simple .. but gorgeous and elegant.
White lace over light champagne satin lining.

The solomization took place at Braise at Sentosa. Overlooking Pahlawan beach, this was the perfect spot for the event.

Oh, and did I mention the food was fantastic ?!
Crab cakes rockxxx ~

Lovin' the dress I bought. Silk fuschia with batik-like prints with embroidered neckline.

Dinner at Amara Sanctuary Sentosa.

I would call it fine dining coz I can't remember the exactly how the food was made.

But every single one left a lasting memory to my taste buds.

Wasabi prawns (one of the 3 dishes for starters). Sharks fin served in a mini pumpkin. Wagyu-beef for main. Baked king prawns. Japanese noodle with tempura fish (i think it was pregnant fish .. coz I don't really know how to appreciate this delicacy). And cempedak creme brulee with berries.

SookWei's an amazing wedding planner. I think her sis and JamieT had contributed alot as well. From the hen's night that they planned out, I won't be surprised they did alot for this night as well.

The ballroom was subtly litted with random shades of pink, blue, orange and green lights .. and with lots and lots of roses and candles. The jazz band was amazing. And the emcee .. not your average random person going on stage and reading off the pre-written script. This guy is a professional man ... like one of those that does commercial/big gala/events. He creates impact.

A lot of great speeches that touches the soul and melts the heart.

Being an amazing singer, SookWei surprised Jason by singing Olivia Newton John's Hopelessly Devoted To You .. followed by her performance with the Sugarettes.
FYI, she's part of the band that made it to Top5 of the Live The Dream.

She's so gonna help me draw out my wedding plans next time.

The venue, the photographer, the performers, the programs.

One thing I love about weddings in Singapore is that the guests dresses properly.
Finely if it may be.
I feel it's a certain level of respect that we have to give to the couple that it's an important event and not just some dinner party that they're throwing.

I really don't get it how can one go to someone's wedding in tees, jeans and sneakers. People are so scared to be overdressed that they go soooo under-dressed.

A week ago Dan consulted me on what should he wear to his friend's wedding in KL. I suggested at least a nice smart shirt and slacks .. coat and tie is optional. He was shocked coz he planned to throw in his tux. But that's way too much ritee......

Congrats to the both and wishing them neverending bliss.

Btw, the stunning pics are taken by Gabriel Mendes.
I so wanna book him ... but he doesn't come cheap.

Should I start saving then ;)

Gymnastics

I have always been so amazed with the sport and it's gracefulness. I wished that my parents had sent me to gymnast school when I was a little girl .. so I could train hard and make my country and parents proud. Since I don't have that chance or able to turn back time, I would like my daughter to relive my dreams.

No one really knows what goes behind the scenes.

We've heard how torturous the rigorous the training is .. but for this case, this is the extreme.

Looks like my doubts in the sport shot up 300% and second thoughts don't even come close to sending my daughter to gymnast training. We'll just stick to ballet. =)

Busy busy busy Weekend

Saturday outing over at Lion City with the Sis and SisBro .. SistaEsh and SisBroSoon.

Sorry FruitZong .. you're not a SisBro. -__-

After "working out" in the streets of Orchard, walking aimlessly for 2 hours or so, without having to sit over coffee coz Singapore has a shitty rule of non-smoking in public with ridiculous quota of smoking areas for cafes, we headed for some stomach pampering over at Dempsey.

Shopping can be so demotivating when there's not a single Sale sign in sight.

The Zara cocktail dress was so pretty .. with a S$229 price tag. -__-

K laa .. I'm a miser laa .. happy?!

Anyways ... back to a much "motivating" note ..

Italian over at La Forketta @ Dempsey.

My Seafood Linguine. I ordered "Seafood Linguine" but the waitress had to correct me .. "Linguine WITH Seafood?" What the hell ....

Anyways .. Hearty serving which is bad for the heart.
Slipper lobsters, clams, prawns, mussels, squid, and scallops.

SisBroSoon's Slipper Lobster Spaggethi.

SisEsh's Carbonara. It was the only cream sauce pasta on the menu.
Not recommended as it tasted really ..... well .. unappetizing.
We had to each give her our scampis to make up for the blandness.

FruitZong's Lasagna.
Seriously .. this is the worst lasagna I've ever seen. We'll just leave the description to your imaginative minds.
The worst looking, but amazingly it was the best tasting one. Seriously. Not funny.
This lasagna tasted real good.

But still ....................

where's the QC in presentation?!

Some fun with the Glasses.

Zong's glasses became an instant IT accessory for the night.

Caucasians can never understand why Asians are able to humour themselves with the camera.
We're so sorry that flashes were zapping non-stop at our table like some private disco ball.

E-Vogue Hair & Make-up Competition / Graduation Show

Congrats to my make-up artist Enya for winning the Bridal Make-up Category and Overall Winner for Make-up.

Ever since she posted pics up on FB and tagged me in it .. my guy friends have been buzzing me about her. She's such a sweetie-pixie-like doll with a outburst of bubbly personality that you just can't resist. I jez wanna chew her !

Her signature statement ... "没有什么的啦。。。!!!"

Am loving the new color of my hair.

Shades ligter than my previous one .. Ash Brown from the Majirel collection.

Done by James from Andy Chan Salon @ DNP Plaza, JB.

James was the winner for this year's Loreal Color Trophy .. so you can trust his expertise as a professional colorist.

The newly renovated Andy Chan Salon is opened everyday except for Tuesdays. The black and white modern victorian theme exudes elegance with sleek sophistication.

James and Bon reckoned I get my hair a couple of shades lighter so that I'll look more pan-Asian.
I don't have courage to go near blonde.
Not when I'm in JB .. I'll get crucified Ah-Lian for life !

Video Sampling

Finally got my hands on the videography sampling from i-Studio for the bridal shoot for Elegance Bridal / Amore Bridal in Singapore.

Am impressed with the simple snapshots of the whole process.

And loving the simple yet elegant styling.

Can't help being amused that Hero looked so much like my cousin Andy.

Yea .. another cradle-snatcher bridal shoot.

Do I really look too young for my age that they have to pair me up with younger men .. or that they look matured for their age?

la nuit où les filles déchaînées

As what SookWei calls it in French ...

The Nite when GIRLS GONE WILD!

So that explains the French Maid outfit =D

The stunning bride-to-be. We go a long way back since we were 8 or something ..
just a day apart when we both came into this world ..
our friendship is destined instead of just mere coincidence.
First stop : Dinner and meet ups at Cafe Iguana.

From this point onwards, we were are fearing for Sook. Friends of hers who couldn't make it to her Hen's Night could only told her to brace herself after going through the circulated emails all week long for the planning of this ...... mayhem.

The brains behind all these ...
JamieT (left) her future SisterInLaw .. and Sim (middle) her blood sis.
It almost seems like Pinky and the Brain planning to rule the world. =D

That's Noelle at the right .. another bubbly wacky woman.

First up, oh course dinner .. Chimichangas were fab at Cafe Iguana.
My knowledge on South American food is very shallow .. so I have no idea what are those.

It feels Mexican .. hence the mentioning of South American.
I have no idea.

What was in store for Sook?

(1) She had to change into a French Maid outfit. It's not that kinky .. coz it was a Halloween costume not some kinky bedroom lingerie. Mind you .. flown all the way from New York ok!

(2) A whole list full of dares she has to do ... there's too many to list down .. plus we were all too drunk to even know where the list went. These are real dares .. not your average forgettable ones, but those that you will reside in your memory for at least a decade, unless severe dementia kicks in at an early age.

Example: Shouting out "I'm Horny" in public.

(3) She has to do some hard-selling to raise money to our kitty so we could buy more drinks.

These are only a handfull of our stock. I always thought condoms came in one-size-fits-all ..
But Trojan had Magnum size ... oh my~

Someone got her a penis cake as well ...

Sorry for the vulgarity .. it's a lil too obscene with the pubes and the cum and all ....

But penis cake was surprisingly delicious.

I couldn't resist .... I had 2 servings *blush*

Made some new gorgeous friends ...
People who are stunningly beautiful and so much to admire.
There's so much to blog about. But it shall end abruptly here coz most of it are censored and only made available to our private selves ;)

On the other had, if our girls night was already that wild, I dare not think what the men will be up to next.

Oh dear ~

Till then ... traffic lights complimentary from Attica!

And for a sec we all thought we had 18 shots free.
Turned out to be juice instead. -_- ""
